| I am an engineer and architect, and have recently moved to the beautiful small town of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. With GIS, I am looking to broaden my skills to continue contributing to the community in the surveying and mapping field, with an interest in eventually gaining a GIS Master's degree. |

Projects Project 1: Coordinates and Map Projections Maps for Pagosa Springs, Colorado. This project looks at two map projections, the Transverse Mercator, used in UTM coordinates, and the Lambert Conformal Conic, used in the Colorado State coordinate system. Learning about the tranformation of unprojected geographical coordinates (Lat./Long.) into a two dimensional projected map form was quite interesting and involves many factors specific to the location that is being mapped.
